Create a culture of learning and self-improvement with Microsoft Viva

At Konsolute, we think Viva is a gamechanger, that’s why we’re developing consultancy kickstart packages to get your journey off to a great start.

In this new blog series we’re going to be taking a deeper dive into the world of Microsoft Viva, addressing and sharing knowledge around each of its four core modules - Connections, Insights, Learning and Topics. This week is the turn of Learning, the module that recognises the need for better learning resources in the workplace.

Learning

94%

of employees say they would stay at a company longer if it invested in their learning and development.

86%

of top-performing companies reported that digital training programs boosted employee engagement and performance.

79%

of CEOs say the talent and skills of their workforce is their number one issue.

Education is always important:

In our final blog in this mini series on Microsoft Viva, we’re taking a look at the learning module. This is one that Microsoft has backed up with some pretty compelling infographics which we’ll address later in the post. Once again, this Viva offering is all about the user experience and improving holistic provision in remote working environments.

Learning in the workplace is the bread and butter to career progression and Microsoft believes it shouldn’t have to feel like a chore. Viva aims to remove traditional obstacles and make learning a truly integrated part of the employee day to day.

So how exactly has Microsoft achieved this style of learning? Through bringing together content from multiple third party providers into a single platform and allowing them to integrate with M365 apps such as SharePoint and Teams.

According to Gartner learning in an interactive, agile way makes for far more effective information retention and knowledge development in the workplace. In fact agile learning enterprises are 4x more likely to see ‘very satisfied’ reports when it comes to training and learning.

Key features:

So now you have access to multiple learning providers which are collected and available on your tenancy. Learning comes from the likes of Microsoft, LinkedIn and Coursera to name a few. This knowledge is not only more accessible, Microsoft have recognised the need for better sharing and collaboration with the recommend feature in teams, so whether it’s an individual you feel would benefit from your learning content or a whole team, this Viva module is a vehicle for sharing.

If you’re a manager or you work in HR and need some metrics surrounding onboarding, Viva learning is here to help you stay on top of courses and lessons with the ability to measure completion. Equally, the dashboard brings together an individuals assigned and recommended courses as well as anything that is trending in content libraries.

And of course, the Viva learning tab has a user friendly format and an easy access tab in your SharePoint environment to help you organise your learning content. If you’re considering using more than one Viva module, Viva Learning works organically with Viva Topics creating recommendations based on the themes and topics that your team/ organisation follow on your existing topic cards. In our current remote situation and moving forward into a hybrid future, this personal, modulated style of learning is a far easier and accessible way for your workforce to adopt new knowledge.

Top three benefits:

  • Make learning more organic by bringing it direct to your workforce in integrated learning content in your 365 environment.
  • Upskill your team, improve your expertise and increase your external reputation.
  • Increase retention through the provision of clear career progression pathways and learning opportunities
