Azure consultancy

Azure consultancy and landing zone services

Build an Azure platform that fits your applications, security requirements and delivery teams. Konsolute's Azure consultants design landing zones, connect environments and automate infrastructure, with clear operational ownership from day one.

WHAT THIS HELPS YOU ACHIEVE

A usable Azure foundation, ready for delivery

Give application teams a consistent place to deploy, with networking, access and operational controls designed together.

Faster environment provisioning

Give teams an approved route to new environments, with reusable infrastructure and clear deployment standards.

More predictable connectivity

Resolve routing and name-resolution requirements across Azure, on-premises systems and connected services.

Consistent access and governance

Apply role, identity and policy designs at appropriate scopes instead of configuring each workload independently.

Operational readiness

Make alerts, recovery procedures and platform ownership part of implementation rather than a post-launch task.

OUR AZURE SERVICES

Azure consultancy services

Six areas of Azure engineering, scoped to your estate and delivered as code, with documentation your team can own.

Azure landing zones

Design management groups, subscriptions and policy around environment separation, billing ownership and your workloads, following Microsoft's landing zone guidance.

Hybrid networking

Plan hub-and-spoke or Virtual WAN connectivity, address space, routing and name resolution, and assess VPN, ExpressRoute and private access to Azure services.

Workload platform design

Choose between virtual machines, App Service, Container Apps and AKS based on application dependencies, scaling needs and your team's ability to run them.

Identity and secrets

Configure Entra ID, Azure RBAC and managed identities, with privileged access and Key Vault designed so people and applications get only the access they need.

Infrastructure as code

Build repeatable Azure environments with Bicep or Terraform and pipelines, using modules, parameters and review gates so every change is tested and traced.

Monitoring and recovery

Configure Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and actionable alerts, and agree Azure Backup, Site Recovery, retention and restore procedures for each workload.

CAPABILITIES & DELIVERY SCOPE

What the technical work covers

Workstreams are selected and scoped around your environment. Each combines technical decisions, implementation tasks and evidence for handover.

Azure landing zones

Translate platform requirements into a hierarchy of management groups and subscriptions. Map policy inheritance, separation of production and non-production, and the teams responsible for each boundary.

Management-group hierarchy Subscription and environment design Azure Policy baseline

Environment provisioning

Build a repeatable onboarding route for new workloads. Specify the information a team must provide, approval responsibilities, and the resources and budget controls provisioned at each stage.

Provisioning workflow Naming and tagging rules Budget and ownership records

Hybrid networking

Trace application traffic through on-premises networks, Azure hubs and service endpoints. Validate routing, firewall dependencies and private name resolution against representative connection scenarios.

IP addressing and routing VPN or ExpressRoute assessment Private endpoints and DNS

Identity and secrets

Map human and workload access separately. Define RBAC scope, managed identity use and secret retrieval, including ownership of privileged changes and identity lifecycle.

RBAC role assignments Managed identities Key Vault integration

Workload platform design

Compare hosting services using application compatibility, operating effort, persistence and scaling requirements. Capture the assumptions that would trigger a different platform decision.

Compute and hosting options Storage and persistence design Capacity and scaling assumptions

Infrastructure as code

Structure reusable infrastructure modules and environment-specific inputs. Define review, validation and deployment gates so teams can evolve the platform through controlled code changes.

Bicep or Terraform modules Environment configuration Pipeline approvals and validation

Monitoring and recovery

Map operational signals to service owners and escalation routes. Configure appropriate log collection and alerts, then align backup coverage and recovery patterns with workload criticality.

Monitoring and alert routing Backup and recovery design Operational runbooks

Operational acceptance

Use agreed acceptance scenarios to test the implemented foundation. Exercise access, connectivity and restoration tasks, record limitations and transfer configuration and runbook ownership.

TECHNICAL DESIGN DECISIONS

Technical decisions that shape delivery

These choices affect implementation, ongoing operation and the evidence needed to accept the work.

Connectivity before deployment

Check address-space overlap, firewall paths and private DNS resolution before choosing a topology. A private endpoint alone does not establish usable end-to-end connectivity.

Platform choice by workload

Compare infrastructure control, application compatibility and support effort. Use managed services where they fit; Kubernetes needs a justified operational case.

Resilience with explicit targets

Agree recovery time and recovery point objectives. Select zone, region and recovery patterns against business impact and cost rather than assume every system needs the same design.

Ownership of the platform

Define who approves infrastructure changes, responds to alerts and maintains modules. A landing zone needs an operating model as well as an initial deployment.

OUR APPROACH

How we deliver Azure consultancy

Six stages take you from workload discovery to a tested Azure foundation, with the code, runbooks and ownership handed to your team.

Discover workloads

Identify applications, data flows, business criticality and existing Azure or on-premises dependencies.

Assess the estate

Review subscriptions, connectivity, access, policy and operational gaps before deciding what to reuse.

Design the platform

Document the resource hierarchy, network topology, identity model and workload hosting decisions.

Deploy with code

Implement the agreed foundation through version-controlled modules and controlled deployment pipelines.

Validate operation

Test routing, name resolution, permissions, alerts and the agreed restoration scenarios.

Transfer ownership

Hand over architecture records, code, runbooks and the platform responsibility matrix.

FAQ

Azure consultancy FAQs

Landing zones, hybrid networking, hosting choices, infrastructure as code, access, recovery and support.

The scope can include management groups, subscriptions, identity, networking, policy, logging and deployment automation. We assess your existing platform first and agree which components need implementation, remediation or integration.

Defence Azure Landing Zone case study

Not necessarily. We assess the existing hierarchy, connectivity and controls, then identify changes needed to reach the target design. Existing workloads and operational dependencies inform the transition plan.

Cloud migration & modernisation

We can design hybrid connectivity, including VPN or ExpressRoute assessment, routing, firewalls and private DNS. The implementation scope identifies carrier, network-team and third-party dependencies.

The choice depends on application requirements, container compatibility, scaling patterns and your ability to operate the platform. We compare these factors and document a recommendation rather than default to Kubernetes.

We can structure the infrastructure-as-code approach around Terraform or Bicep, depending on your estate and team standards. The scope covers module ownership, state or deployment management, access and pipeline controls.

We review Entra ID integration, Azure RBAC, privileged access and workload identities. Role assignments and managed identities are designed around the tasks applications and people actually need to perform.

Identity & privileged access

We can design private endpoints and associated networking and DNS where supported. We also validate how clients resolve names and route traffic, because a private endpoint does not replace an end-to-end connectivity design.

We agree workload recovery objectives, assess appropriate backup and replication options, and define restoration procedures. Recovery testing and operational ownership are included where agreed in the delivery scope.

Agreed deliverables can include architecture diagrams, deployment modules, configuration records, access and policy definitions, test evidence and operational runbooks. We identify the owner of each deliverable at handover.

Consulting can prepare the platform for operational support, but monitoring coverage, incident response and service commitments need an agreed support scope. We document that boundary before handover.
