Cyber security
Cyber security services for Microsoft 365 and Azure
Find your security gaps, fix them and prove it. Konsolute's security-cleared UK consultants assess, implement and support Microsoft Entra ID, Defender, Intune, Purview and Sentinel controls across your identities, devices, information and cloud workloads.
SECURITY THAT WORKS IN PRACTICE
Close the gaps between your security tools and your business
Buying security technology is only the start. We assess how your Microsoft environment is configured, prioritise the exposures that matter and implement improvements your people can operate. Our cyber security consulting connects technical controls with clear ownership, tested changes and evidence of progress.
Security assessments & remediation
Assess Microsoft 365, Azure and connected identity services against agreed objectives. Review configuration, access and protection, then deliver a prioritised remediation plan with named owners.
Identity & privileged access
Strengthen Microsoft Entra ID with MFA, Conditional Access and least-privilege administration. Review privileged roles, guest access and app permissions, with controlled rollout and emergency access.
Microsoft 365 security
Improve protection across Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive. Review email security, external sharing, app consent and collaboration settings, using Microsoft Defender where licensed.
Endpoint & cloud protection
Protect endpoints and Azure workloads with device compliance, security baselines and threat protection. Close onboarding gaps, cloud misconfiguration and exposed management paths, with owners agreed.
Information protection & DLP
Define how sensitive information is classified, accessed and shared. Implement Microsoft Purview sensitivity labels and DLP around real business scenarios, with testing, user guidance and exceptions.
Detection & response readiness
Connect security signals to a response process that works. Configure Defender XDR and Microsoft Sentinel, tune detections and document triage, escalation and response responsibilities within scope.
OUR APPROACH
From security assessment to measurable improvement
We work through a defined scope, agree priorities with your stakeholders and validate changes before wider deployment. Every stage ends with decisions and evidence your technical and business teams can use.
Assess the environment
Review the agreed tenants, subscriptions, identities, devices and information flows. Identify coverage gaps, existing controls and operational constraints.
Prioritise the work
Translate findings into a risk-based backlog. Agree the target configuration, licensing dependencies, change sequence and acceptance criteria.
Implement & validate
Pilot policy changes, test representative users and workloads, and capture results. Record exceptions and rollback steps before broader rollout.
Hand over & improve
Provide configuration records, runbooks and named ownership. Agree review cycles and any ongoing support so controls remain useful as your environment changes.
CONTROLLED SECURITY CHANGE
Stronger protection without losing operational control
Security changes affect how people sign in, share information and run services. We design deployments around business dependencies, test the impact and document the decisions behind each control.
WHERE TO START
Tackle the security issues creating avoidable exposure
You do not need to replace every tool to make progress. A focused engagement can resolve a specific control gap or establish a wider improvement programme.
Typical starting points for a cyber security engagement
See it in practice: Konsolute designed and built a Zero Trust Microsoft 365 tenant for Great British Energy – Nuclear, with identity, device and information controls in place from day one.

Microsoft security expertise, applied across your environment
We connect the relevant capabilities across identity, endpoints, collaboration, information and cloud operations. Product selection and configuration follow your requirements, existing investments and licensing.
Identity & access
Review Entra ID authentication, Conditional Access, privileged access and application permissions. Align access controls with user roles, device context and service dependencies.
Devices & workloads
Use Intune, Defender for Endpoint and Defender for Cloud where appropriate to establish coverage, review configuration and assign remediation across supported devices and workloads.
Email & collaboration
Review phishing protection, mailbox settings and external collaboration. Configure appropriate Defender for Office 365 controls and test their effect on legitimate business communication.
Data & information
Apply Purview labels and DLP to agreed information types and supported locations. Validate policy behaviour with business owners and provide a manageable exception process.
Detection & response
Use licensed Defender XDR signals and scoped Sentinel integrations to support investigation. Define alert routing, escalation and response authority alongside technical configuration.
Governance & ownership
Maintain control baselines, configuration records and an exception register. Assign review responsibilities and distinguish technical evidence from assumptions about compliance.
WHAT YOU RECEIVE
Evidence, working controls and clear next steps
You receive more than a list of recommendations. Deliverables reflect the agreed scope and provide a practical basis for implementation, validation and ongoing ownership.
YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED
Cyber security services FAQs
Assessments, implementation, security controls and operational ownership.
We provide scoped security assessments, remediation planning, implementation and support across Microsoft 365, Azure and connected services. An engagement can focus on a single area, such as identity or information protection, or cover several control domains. We agree the environments, deliverables and acceptance criteria before work begins.
Yes. We review the agreed configuration and available evidence, including access policies, privileged roles, protection coverage and relevant collaboration settings. Findings identify the observed exposure, recommended action and implementation dependencies. The assessment records its scope and limitations so stakeholders understand what has been reviewed.
We can take agreed findings through design, pilot, implementation and validation. The remediation backlog sets priorities and identifies changes that require licensing, business decisions or coordination with other suppliers. You can commission an assessment first or agree a combined assessment and implementation engagement.
We review current policies, user groups, service dependencies and emergency access arrangements before designing changes. Report-only evaluation and pilot groups are used where appropriate, followed by representative testing and staged enforcement. Exceptions and rollback steps are documented before wider deployment.
We review administrator assignments, privileged access processes, application consent and workload identities within the agreed scope. Improvements can include reducing standing privilege, introducing appropriate role activation controls and replacing unnecessary credentials or permissions. Required licensing and operational dependencies are checked during design.
Yes. We can review and implement supported Intune and Microsoft Defender controls for the agreed device estate and Microsoft 365 services. Work includes checking onboarding coverage, policy configuration and ownership of remediation. Supported platforms, licensing and coexistence with existing tools are established before deployment.
We start with the information you need to protect, where it is held and how people use it. We then design labels and DLP policies for agreed scenarios and supported locations, test the effect on genuine work and tune the results. User guidance and exception handling form part of the deployment rather than being left until enforcement.
We assess the relevant dependencies between Microsoft services, existing security products and on-premises systems. Integrations, telemetry and control boundaries are selected according to supported capabilities and access. We define which systems are in scope and coordinate changes with their owners instead of assuming every platform is covered.
Continuous monitoring, managed detection and response, and incident response retainers require an explicit service agreement. A configuration or readiness engagement does not itself provide round-the-clock monitoring. We define monitoring hours, escalation routes, response authority and supplier responsibilities for any ongoing service.
No. A configuration and control assessment reviews the agreed environment, evidence and protection settings. Penetration testing actively tests for exploitable weaknesses under a separately authorised scope. If you need that work, its methods, systems, rules of engagement and deliverables must be agreed separately.
Some controls depend on your Microsoft subscriptions, service plans and the users or workloads being protected. We check entitlement and deployment dependencies during discovery, then identify gaps before recommending implementation. Any additional licensing and consumption costs need to be understood as part of the delivery decision.
We agree acceptance criteria linked to the controls being changed, then capture configuration evidence and validation results. Measures can include protection coverage, privileged access reduction and tested policy behaviour. Remaining exceptions and operational responsibilities are recorded; a higher posture score alone is not treated as proof that every risk has been resolved.
