Application support
Application support services
Business applications that stay secure, stable and fast. UK-based L2 and L3 support for your web applications, custom software, line-of-business systems and integrations, from daily incident resolution to performance tuning and minor enhancements. Fully managed, or working alongside your development team.
What's covered
Managed application support across your software estate
One specialist team to maintain, protect and improve your custom and business applications, with minimal downtime, continuous security and scope set before the service begins.
L2 & L3 application support
Application incidents investigated and fixed by engineers who can read and change the code.
Maintenance & patching
Frameworks, runtimes and dependencies kept current, without disrupting business as usual.
Performance monitoring
Response times, errors and resource usage tracked, so slowdowns are caught before users notice.
Custom app & web platforms
Web applications, portals and line-of-business systems supported, whoever originally built them.
Databases & integrations
Databases, APIs and system integrations kept healthy, tuned and reliably connected to the systems around them.
Enhancements & technical debt
Small improvements and code clean-up that make applications easier and safer to run.
Security & access governance
Vulnerability remediation, access controls and secrets management built into the service.
Backup & recovery
Application data and configuration protected, with recovery steps documented and tested.
Proactive application management
Preventing application outages before users notice
We monitor, patch and optimise your application stack continuously, finding performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities before they affect your users.
Health checks & error tracking
Automated health checks and error tracking catch problems as they happen, not when users report them.
Security patching
Scheduled security patching and dependency updates, tested before they reach production.
Database optimisation
Query tuning and index maintenance keep applications fast and responsive as data volumes grow.
Root-cause analysis
Recurring bugs traced to their source and fixed properly, so the same incidents stop coming back.
Transparent reporting
Service reports covering incidents, response performance and trends, with full visibility of the service.
Dedicated service delivery manager
One accountable point of contact overseeing your service, reporting and improvement plan.
Applications and activities
Custom application, database and integration support
Your service can cover the following applications and activities. The final scope reflects your codebase, hosting, integrations, business-critical systems and the responsibilities retained by your internal team.
Web application support
Support for the web applications and portals your staff and customers rely on.
Line-of-business and legacy systems
Keep the bespoke systems your business processes depend on running and maintainable.
Database support and optimisation
The databases behind your applications kept fast, healthy and recoverable.
API and integration support
Keep data moving between your applications, cloud services and third-party systems.
Application security
Close vulnerabilities and control access before they become incidents.
Application performance monitoring
See how your applications behave in production, and fix slowdowns at the source.
Release management and DevOps
Controlled, repeatable releases that don't put production at risk.
Minor enhancements and technical debt
Small, steady improvements that keep applications useful and maintainable.
Engineering expertise
Application support for government, nuclear and regulated organisations
Generic IT helpdesks struggle with complex codebases and custom business logic. Our service connects your users and IT team directly with experienced software engineers and solution architects, including SC and DV-cleared engineers for regulated environments.
Engineers, not just ticket handlers
Complex incidents go straight to software engineers who can diagnose, fix and release the change themselves.
Takeover from any supplier
We take on support for software built by third-party vendors or internal teams, with a structured handover and no gap in cover.
SC and DV-cleared engineers
SC and DV-cleared engineers for applications that require them, with clearance confirmed before any access is granted.
Your whole Microsoft estate
Applications depend on Azure and Microsoft 365. We support them too, so cross-service issues stay with one team instead of bouncing between suppliers.
Switching is simple
Moving your application support to Konsolute
You don't need to have built the application with us. We review the code and architecture, complete knowledge transfer with your team or incumbent supplier, and validate deployment before taking responsibility.
1. Discover
We review your applications, hosting and current support arrangements.
2. Review code
A code, architecture and dependency review identifies risks and quick wins.
3. Agree scope
Together we define coverage, priorities and escalation routes.
4. Onboard
We set up environments, monitoring and access, and document business logic.
5. Go live
We validate pipelines, confirm readiness and take over support.
6. Improve
Regular reviews cover stability, performance and technical debt.

Managed or co-managed
Application support that fits your team
Hand us day-to-day application support entirely, or keep your developers focused on new features and use us for L2 and L3 support, maintenance and out-of-hours cover. Ownership, access and handovers are set up front.
See it in practice: Konsolute moved an aerospace manufacturer's legacy applications onto container-based hosting in Azure, with DevOps practices for building and releasing them.
Service boundaries
Clear service coverage, security and responsibilities
Before onboarding, we agree what is supported, who can approve releases and how incidents are handled, so there are no grey areas when something breaks.
Support hours, priorities and escalation
Contact channels, supported hours, incident priorities and response targets are agreed up front, with business-critical applications identified during onboarding.
Access to code and environments
We use least-privilege access to source code, environments and data, and remove it when responsibilities change. A dedicated SOC, penetration testing or forensic investigation are scoped separately.
Source code and third-party software
Your organisation keeps ownership of its code. We need access to source and deployment pipelines to support custom applications. Packaged third-party software is supported to the level your vendor agreements allow.
Enhancements, projects and hosting
Minor enhancements are included up to the level set in your agreement. New applications, major features and re-platforming are scoped as separate projects. Azure hosting and licence costs are billed separately from the support service.
FAQ
Application support FAQs
Takeover, tech stacks, legacy systems, security, response and pricing.
L2 and L3 incident resolution, bug fixing, monitoring, security patching, database maintenance, integration support, release management and minor enhancements for your custom and business applications. Your service agreement sets out exactly which applications and activities are covered, and new development is scoped separately.
We follow a phased onboarding process. It starts with a code and architecture review, dependency audit and knowledge transfer sessions with your team or incumbent supplier. We set up staging environments, document custom business logic and validate deployment pipelines before taking responsibility, so there is no gap in support.
We specialise in applications built on Microsoft technologies, including .NET and C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript and TypeScript, SQL Server and Azure SQL, Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Logic Apps and Power Platform. We confirm fit for your specific applications during discovery.
Yes. Our engineers analyse the code and map the database schema to rebuild documentation, add error logging and stabilise the application. We then recommend a realistic upgrade or modernisation path, which can be scoped as a separate project.
We use Application Insights and Azure Monitor to track response times, errors, dependencies and resource usage, with alerts on the thresholds that matter to your users. When performance drops, we trace the cause to the code, query or infrastructure, fix it and confirm the improvement.
We add dependency scanning and security testing to your pipelines, then patch open-source packages, runtimes and frameworks on a regular schedule. Vulnerabilities such as the OWASP Top 10 and published CVEs are prioritised by risk and tested before they reach production.
Response and resolution targets are set by priority and written into your service agreement, with Priority 1 incidents worked until service is restored. Resolution can depend on third-party vendors or hosting providers, which we coordinate on your behalf.
Yes. Konsolute supports UK public sector and regulated organisations, including the nuclear sector, with engineers holding SC (Security Check) and DV (Developed Vetting) clearance. Clearance, access and change controls are confirmed for each application before onboarding.
With fully managed support, Konsolute takes responsibility for supporting and maintaining your applications. With co-managed support, our engineers handle L2 and L3 incidents, maintenance or out-of-hours cover while your developers stay focused on new features.
Both. Minor enhancements and technical debt reduction can be included up to a level set in your agreement, managed through a shared backlog. Larger features, new applications and re-platforming are scoped and priced as separate projects.
Pricing depends on the number and complexity of applications in scope, the hours of cover you need, response targets and any enhancement allowance. Hosting and licence costs are billed separately. Share your requirements and we’ll provide a clear quotation.
