Endpoint & cloud protection

Endpoint security and Azure cloud protection services

Find the devices and Azure workloads that aren't protected, then fix them. Konsolute implements Intune compliance, Defender for Endpoint and Defender for Cloud, with tested policies, proven coverage and an owned remediation backlog.

WHAT THIS HELPS YOU ACHIEVE

Know what is protected and act on what is exposed

Security tools are useful only when the right assets are onboarded, policies apply as intended and someone owns the findings. We connect endpoint management and Azure protection around an agreed inventory, practical controls and repeatable remediation.

Close coverage gaps

Reconcile the agreed device and workload inventory with management and protection evidence to identify missing or unhealthy coverage.

Strengthen configuration

Apply suitable hardening, compliance and threat protection settings through controlled deployments.

Reduce unnecessary exposure

Address cloud misconfiguration and exposed administration paths with changes tested against service dependencies.

Make remediation actionable

Assign findings to owners, agree priorities and validate the results rather than treating an enabled tool as the finished outcome.

OUR ENDPOINT & CLOUD PROTECTION SERVICES

Endpoint and Azure protection, implemented around your estate

Commission a focused onboarding or hardening project, or a phased improvement programme across agreed devices and Azure resources. Supported platforms, plans and operating responsibilities are confirmed during discovery.

Device inventory & onboarding

Reconcile asset records with Intune and Defender evidence. Find unmanaged devices, incomplete onboarding and unhealthy reporting, then agree an onboarding plan with exclusions and owners recorded.

Intune compliance & configuration

Design compliance and configuration policies for supported platforms. Resolve assignment conflicts and set encryption and local security rules, with access enforced through Entra Conditional Access.

Defender for Endpoint

Deploy and validate Defender for Endpoint on agreed operating systems. Configure antivirus, firewall, attack surface reduction and response settings, allowing for existing tools and app compatibility.

Azure posture & workload protection

Assess Defender for Cloud coverage and choose the right protection plans for agreed workloads. Review resource configuration and security findings, then prioritise changes with subscription owners.

Management paths & network exposure

Review public management endpoints, network rules and admin access paths. Design restrictions and private connectivity where suitable, testing DNS, monitoring and legitimate access before changes go live.

Vulnerability remediation & operations

Turn vulnerability and configuration findings into an owned backlog. Coordinate patching and configuration changes with service teams, retest the results and agree alert escalation and exceptions.

CAPABILITIES & DELIVERY SCOPE

Protection across devices, servers and Azure workloads

We distinguish device management, compliance, threat protection and cloud posture. Each has different coverage and prerequisites; the design makes those boundaries explicit rather than assuming one deployment secures every asset.

Inventory & coverage

Establish which assets are in scope and whether each one is managed, protected and reporting as expected, using an agreed authoritative inventory.

  • Authoritative inventory and reconciliation method
  • Onboarding status and sensor health evidence
  • Unsupported assets and exclusion ownership

Device compliance

Define measurable compliance rules for supported platforms, keeping assessment separate from the configuration and access policies that enforce it.

  • Compliance rules and assignment groups
  • Configuration dependencies and policy conflicts
  • Grace periods and user remediation guidance

Security baselines & hardening

Choose settings for each device type and operating environment, and pilot changes rather than applying one generic baseline to every workload.

  • Supported baseline selection and customisation
  • Encryption and local security requirements
  • Application compatibility and exception handling

Threat protection & response

Configure Defender for Endpoint and verify the agreed response workflows, taking existing antivirus and management products into account in the design.

  • Onboarding and protection status validation
  • Antivirus and attack surface reduction settings
  • Alert routing and authorised response actions

Cloud posture & protection plans

Choose Defender for Cloud plans for the resources you need to protect, separating posture from workload protection and noting deployment or cost dependencies.

  • Subscription and resource coverage review
  • Plan selection and deployment prerequisites
  • Findings and service owner accountability

Azure exposure & policy

Review management access, network boundaries and resource settings, using Azure Policy assignments and approved remediation where they fit the workload.

  • Public endpoint and network rule review
  • Policy scope and exception decisions
  • Connectivity validation and change approval

Prioritised remediation

Combine observed findings with exposure and business context, so each scan result becomes a tracked task with a responsible team and acceptance criteria.

  • Affected assets and supporting evidence
  • Patch and configuration dependencies
  • Agreed priorities and accountable owners

Validation & ongoing ownership

Confirm that changes reached the intended assets and worked as expected, and agree how coverage, exceptions and findings are reviewed after handover.

  • Deployment and retest evidence
  • Remaining risks and review dates
  • Monitoring and support service boundaries

TECHNICAL DESIGN DECISIONS

Hardening that respects workload and application dependencies

A restrictive policy can affect legitimate work if it is deployed without context. We test representative devices and workloads, agree operational access and record the decisions behind exceptions.

Platform-specific design

Confirm supported operating systems, device types and workload features. Don't assume Windows baselines apply equally to servers, VDI and other platforms.

Policy coordination

Review Intune profiles, baselines, endpoint policies and existing management tools together. Resolve conflicts and decide which service owns each setting.

Controlled enforcement

Use pilots and audit modes where supported, and agree compliance-based access rules with identity owners before enforcement starts to affect user sign-in.

Operational accountability

Agree who handles alerts, deploys patches and approves exceptions. Define response authority and support hours rather than implying a 24/7 managed service.

WHERE ENDPOINT AND CLOUD PROTECTION CAN HELP

Start with a protection gap you can define and measure

Discovery establishes whether the requirement is onboarding, device hardening, cloud protection or an owned remediation programme. The final scope identifies assets, dependencies and exclusions.

  • Resolve devices missing Intune management or healthy Defender coverage
  • Replace inconsistent endpoint policies with a tested security baseline
  • Introduce compliance policies with appropriate user remediation processes
  • Review Defender for Cloud coverage across Azure subscriptions
  • Restrict unnecessarily exposed Azure administration paths
  • Create an accountable backlog for patching and security configuration findings

FAQ

Endpoint and cloud protection FAQs

Intune, Defender for Endpoint, servers, Azure workloads and patching.

We implement agreed controls across managed devices and Azure workloads, including onboarding, configuration, compliance and supported threat protection. The scope identifies platforms, resources and operational boundaries. It can focus on one area or combine endpoint and cloud workstreams.

Yes. We compare agreed inventory sources with available Intune and Defender evidence to identify missing onboarding, reporting issues and exclusions. The result is bounded by the completeness of those sources. We document any assets or locations that cannot be reliably reconciled.

No. Compliance policies assess defined conditions, while configuration policies apply settings and Conditional Access can use compliance signals for supported access decisions. We design these together where in scope, making their separate roles and ownership clear.

Identity & Conditional Access

Yes, for the platforms and capabilities agreed during discovery. We review licensing, onboarding methods, network access and coexistence with existing tools. The implementation includes validation of protection and reporting rather than treating installation alone as acceptance.

No. Supported settings and appropriate values depend on the platform, device type and workload. We select and customise suitable controls, investigate existing policy interactions and test representative assets before broader deployment. Exceptions are recorded with owners and review requirements.

We can assess supported protection options for the agreed server estate, including appropriate Defender for Servers capabilities where suitable. Deployment design depends on hosting, operating system support, licensing and connectivity. Server management and protection are not assumed to follow the same model as user endpoints.

The scope can include Defender for Cloud coverage, appropriate workload protection plans, configuration findings and exposed management paths. We identify the subscriptions and resource types involved, assess prerequisites and costs, and agree remediation responsibilities with the teams that operate the workloads.

Azure cloud security

Container and Kubernetes protection can be a defined Azure workstream where the selected services and plans support the requirement. We establish cluster scope, deployment prerequisites and ownership. Cluster hardening, image vulnerability work and runtime protection are distinguished rather than promised as a single automatic outcome.

We review the agreed endpoints, network rules and administration paths, then design suitable restrictions. Private connectivity or other access changes require dependency testing, including DNS and monitoring. We preserve authorised operational access through an approved and validated change plan.

Patching and configuration remediation can be included explicitly in the engagement. We agree owners, maintenance windows, deployment methods and validation steps before implementation. Findings requiring application changes or another supplier are tracked with the relevant dependency instead of being marked resolved prematurely.

Not automatically. An implementation engagement includes the configuration and operational preparation defined in scope. Continuous monitoring or managed response requires a separate agreement covering hours, alert ownership, escalation and response authority across your teams and providers.

Detection & response readiness

We agree acceptance criteria for coverage, configuration and selected operational workflows, then capture deployment and test evidence. Remediation findings are retested where in scope. Remaining exceptions, unsupported assets and ongoing review responsibilities are documented at handover.
